The Lightwave directory has been expanded to include hundreds of
additional objects than LIGHT-ROM #1. There have been some incredible
submissions that can be found in the LIGHTWAV/SHOWCASE directory.
These objects in the SHOWCASE directory are also cross referenced in
the category directories for your convience. There were a few last
minute additions to the SHOWCASE directory that I did not have time to
create thumbnail renderings for. My apologies, but as you can see from
size of LIGHT-ROM 2, I ran out of space as well as time!
Please read the README files regarding the credit due to the
individual Lightwave artists. Please exercise good judgement when
using some of these objects. Do NOT use such well know objects such as
Star Wars, Star Trek or Babylon 5 objects in your own productions if
they are broadcast! You have all heard the stories regarding the
DayCare center that was sued by Disney because they had the walls
painted with Disney characters. The same lessons apply here! LucasFilms,
Paramount & Warner Brothers are probably NOT going to be any more
understanding than Disney in high profile cases. THESE OBJECTS ARE
INCLUDED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! There is much to be learned
from studying these objects & the techniques used in creating such
incredibly detailed models! One more issue to discuss on this matter,
I would NEVER knowingly include any commercial objects on any issue
of LIGHT-ROM! Many people felt that some of the Babylon 5 objects
were the original objects used on the show. PLEASE read the README files
included with these objects. You will then see that the objects are a
labor of love of talented Lightwave artists like Dean Scott.
Once again, I would like to thank all the artists who have contributed
their work to LIGHT-ROM 2! Please take the time to view their README
files. I would also like to thank Kevin Lude (there is that name again)
for contributing his large collection of Lightwave objects. Kevin would
appreciate any feed back that you could give him. His README file is
included with his work in the SHOWCASE directory, along with
instructions on how to get in contact with him. Any job opportunities
would be apreciated by Kevin!
If you have any original objects you would like to contribute to a
future issue of LIGHT-ROM, please contact the author of LIGHt-ROM;
